In this episode of Walking History we talk about the First Battle of Bull Run, also known as the First Battle of Manassas. 

The battle took place on July 21, 1861 near Manassas, Virginia, and was the first major battle of the Civil War. Tens of thousands of troops from both sides engaged each other in what began as a bloody, back and forth engagement that eventually turned into a complete rout of the Union forces. This battle is also home to two of the most unbelievable stories of the Civil War - listen in to find out what happened!
