Show Notes

In this Episode of the Educator Podcast: How To, I interview longtime professional musician Francis Roberts, where we discuss the hidden details of the life of a professional musician and how to make a living in today’s music industry.

Have you always wanted to be a musician? Have you wondered how to make it happen? Are you just curious to learn what the real life of a musician is like? Join Francis and I for a fascinating, in-depth discussion of the realities of the music industry the way it really is, not how it’s portrayed on tv and social media. We discuss everything from the dozens of ways you can make a living with music, how to get started whether you’re a high school student or a working adult, the reality of drugs, alcohol and the day-to-day life of working musicians, and how to hold onto your passion while still earning a paycheck, even if it’s just for fun.

Francis’ words of wisdom are deep, poignant, often hilarious and constantly surprising. You’re sure to learn a lot, whether music is your life’s calling or just a hobby you’re starting to explore.
